Roland garros interrupter gear?

when roland garros was shot down in wwI was the interruptor gear he was developing on his airplane fully functional? or was it still under development when wilhelm II had the werck sent to the fokker plant? read garros' personal papers and they seem to suggest a different scinerio than what my professor has stated in cl. also the data im finding in secondary sources support both sides.
