What kind of crafts can be made from red Chinese envelopes?

I have always noticed people using leftover red Chinese envelopes to make animals, lanterns, etc. and I have been browsing the internet but I can not seem to find any links to this. Can anyone tell me what can be made from these envelopes and where I can perhaps find links with instructions on how to make them?
