Why do spec ops teams use Mp5SD, even though it shoots hangun rounds and not 5 or 7 mm Nato [more damaging]?

Enough bullets in a target will do plenty of damage. And the 9mm is a NATO round (that's what the MP5 shoots) And 500 feet is 166 yards, thats not exactly CQB.
