What is Innovation in Video Game Consoles? Which of the Big Three (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft) Does It More?

I hear innovation is not about doing something first (that counts) but it is about doing something better. Knowing this which of the console manufacturers innovate more? Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony. I have seen Nintendo do stuff first, but Microsoft take what they did and try to improve upon it (like Project Natal), and Sony well they copied from what I see.
